New LO-PRO 427CM outfitted with a CON-E-CO Model 12 tilt mixer purchased by Ameron.
Blair, Neb. (May 14, 2015) – CON-E-CO, an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) company, has installed four CON-E-CO® Model 12 tilt mixers at Ameron Hawaii batch plant facilities located on Hawaii’s Oahu and Maui islands. All four batch plants – all competitive brands – have been retrofitted and upgraded to CON-E-CO’s 12 cubic yard capacity, tilt mixer configuration.
Two of the four plants were converted from dry batch to central mix wet batch operations. Ameron Hawaii also purchased a CON-E-CO LO-PRO® 427CM batch plant outfitted with a fifth CON-E-CO Model 12 tilt mixer.
The move to wet mix operations at two of the four locations was driven, in part, by ready-mix performance requirements for a major bridge deck project, as well as a desire to address customers’ increasing specialty mix requests. “We serve a broad range of market applications, and are producing a wider range of specialized mixes with higher levels of admixtures,” said Eric Yoshizawa, vice president, Ameron Hawaii. “The CON-E-CO central mix drums provide improved control in the production of ready-mixed concrete. We also specified all four mixers with variable speed drive systems, an important feature that was only available from CON-E-CO.”

The CON-E-CO Model 12 tilt mixer features a full 12 cubic yard drum and an advanced “Five Star” mixer paddle design for optimum product quality. It has the ability to be fitted with a variable frequency drive to reduce wear on drive components as well as the amount of splatter. The mixer arrives fully assembled, wired and plumbed for faster and lower cost installation.
The CON-E-CO 427CM batch plant is engineered to quickly accept optional bolt-on expansion modules, making the plant easy to grow as the customer’s production needs increase. It features a patented “blending” cement batcher for enhanced product quality.
CON-E-CO full-service dealer organization, DHE Inc., handled field retrofit engineering, support, and mixer installation on the Ameron project. “DHE provides excellent service and field support in our market. In particular, as we were going through these conversions, we needed someone who could help us to complete them in a timely fashion and with good quality,” added Yoshizawa. “We now have a high degree of standardization with our mixers, and this has operational benefits in terms of parts commonality as well as operator training and moving personnel seamlessly between locations.”
